DeducingHands
Tui Shou is not the "pushing hands" of pushing a person (PushingHands) — it is the hand of combat deduction (DeducingHands). A Taiji-based pushing-hands practice that is safe, playful, civilized and elegant, taught with pure scientific explanation, so enthusiasts can play their way to the legendary internal power of Taiji.
What is DeducingHands
Tui Shou is the war-game deduction of unarmed combat: a clear purpose (technique), a concept (safe combat deduction), a rule (speed-limited real sparring), and a goal (skill & power). It helps Taiji enthusiasts find the true legend of Taiji in a civilized, elegant, friendly and mutually supportive game.
1Combat Deduction
The underlying logic is safe combat deduction. In Tui Shou, both partners must limit their speed equally, avoiding excessive force or fast motion that could cause injury, preserving harmony and safety.
2Speed-Limited Real Sparring
There is only one rule: speed limit. A hundred-fold slowdown ensures safety; an equal speed limit ensures fairness. Train for real, play for real, but never truly strike. A civilized, elegant and endlessly fascinating martial chess game.
3Pure Scientific Explanation
Starting from human decision-making, game-theoretic confrontation, body structure and military strategy, combined with the Tao Te Ching, The Art of War and the Huangdi Neijing, we explain Taiji with minimal, clean scientific reasoning — understand it clearly, practice it clearly.
Live Teaching
Every jump and release is mechanical necessity and instinctive evasion. In "slow real fighting", your technical gaps are exposed and corrected.

About DeducingHands
"Suyuan" means simplicity returning to the origin, rooted in traditional Wu-style Taijiquan Tui Shou. Simple, plain movements with a minimalist scientific theory, helping Taiji lovers find the true legend of Taiji.
What is DeducingHands
DeducingHands is a Tui Shou practice centered on Taijiquan, whose core philosophy values safety, fun, civility and elegance. Through scientific explanation and real training, students gradually acquire true Taiji internal force.
It starts from human decision-making, the operating mechanism of the brain, game-theoretic confrontation, body structure and military strategy, combined with classics of Chinese civilization such as the Tao Te Ching, The Art of War and the Huangdi Neijing, guiding enthusiasts to glimpse the legendary realm of Taijiquan.
Underlying logic: safe combat deduction
Both partners must limit speed equally to avoid excessive force or fast movement causing injury. Participants must master correct technique and avoid positions where a "strike" becomes possible, preserving the harmony and safety of Tui Shou.
In speed-limited combat deduction, the moment a "strikable" opening appears, you have already been "checkmated" — this is the unique view of DeducingHands: speed-limited real sparring.

The Journey
Tui Shou is not the pushing of hands
Traditional Tui Shou can look "fake": no straining, no forcing, no gritted teeth — and many people doubt it. Yet the famous Taiji sayings — "borrow force to strike", "use intention, not force", "deflect a thousand pounds with four ounces" — which of them ever told you to use brute strength?
Definition of DeducingHands
Tui Shou (DeducingHands definition) is a safe, combative, deductive game aimed at improving technique.
DeducingHands: A safe, combative, deductive game aimed at skill improvement.
Why only "push"? In unarmed combat, if one side could accelerate into an effective attack (striking without contact), the other side would already have exposed a defensible opening. So Tui Shou is not "only push, no strike" — rather, in speed-limited combat deduction, the moment a "strikable" opening appears, you have already been "checkmated".
Why "speed limit"? Combat is an extremely dangerous confrontation. From traditional Tui Shou routines and phenomena, one can conclude that behind it all there is a single rule: speed limit — both partners equally slow, ensuring safety, engaging in rule-free combat; traditional Tui Shou immediately reproduces this. This is the true underlying logic of Tui Shou: combat deduction.
The Only Rule of Tui Shou: Speed Limit
Hundred-fold slowdown, safety first
Safety is the bottom line, responsibility is your own; practice and play rationally. In a safe environment slowed a hundred times, train for real and play for real.
Equal speed limit, fairness guaranteed
The purpose is to improve technique, not to injure or show off. Deduct changes with equanimity; win or lose, accept it calmly.
Train for real, play for real — never truly strike
Be serious in the deduction to the end; if a real strike were needed, it would be unnecessary — the person is the master of the fist.
The stronger side stops at the touch; the weaker side neither cowers nor gives up — fight to the end.
Power 功力
On-site, decision, execution and winning ability. Ability includes: technique + physical fitness. Tui Shou studies the technique part of power.
One move · a hundred times slower · play to real skill
No need to learn forms or standing meditation first. Start directly from Tui Shou, upgrade and iterate in a state of "play", and develop Taiji internal force.
Nine Insights to Understand Tui Shou
1Core definition
Tui Shou is not pushing a person! It is "combat deduction under speed limit". Experience real attack-and-defense games in safe slow motion, and use science to unveil the legendary "weak overcomes strong" of Taijiquan.
2Scientific approach
Tired of mystical explanations? Use physics and game theory to explain Taijiquan purely scientifically. From "borrowing force" to "internal force", every principle is clear and verifiable.
3Safe & fun
Worried about injury or strength contests? There is one rule: speed limit. Train and play for real in the safe environment of "a hundred-fold slowdown" — civilized and elegant, without violence.
4Dispelling myths
Ten years of Taiji and still a "flower frame"? The problem may be cognition. Step out of the "pushing people" and "cooperation" traps, and go straight to the essence of "combat deduction".
5Training advantage
No need to learn complex forms first! Start directly from Tui Shou, use scientific methods like "one move, a hundred times slower", iterate in "play", and develop Taiji internal force.
6Cultural depth
More than martial arts. Merging the wisdom of the Tao Te Ching, The Art of War and other Chinese classics, it is a dual cultivation of body and mind — experiencing "hold the center, surprise from the flank" and "win by striking second" through play.
7Result promise
Chasing "four ounces deflecting a thousand pounds" but always ending up bull-headed? Through "listening energy" and "neither resist nor detach" training, shed crude strength and forge "iron wrapped in cotton" integrated force.
8Live teaching
Watching livestreams and wondering "is it cooperation"? Live teaching shows: every jump and release is mechanical necessity and instinctive evasion — gaps are corrected in "slow real fighting".
9Ultimate goal
More than learning movements. Cultivate a modern martial artist with scientific cognition, refined technique and a strong mind, and find the legendary "softness overcomes hardness" of Taijiquan.
Original Poem
Simplicity returns to origin, holding the central way;
Primordial qi transforms, turning hardness into suppleness.
Returning to truth, one awakens the yin-yang principle;
The moment the mind is clear, power merges of itself.

Profile
Sixth-generation inheritor of Wu-style Taijiquan, disciple of Master Ma Changxun (fifth-generation master of Wu-style Taijiquan), founder of DeducingHands culture; an IT engineer with full R&D experience.
Practice & Teaching Journey
In 1990, studied under Master Ma Changxun, a renowned Wu-style Taijiquan Tui Shou master, learning traditional Wu-style Taijiquan and Tui Shou. Over thirty years of practice, with a deep understanding of the hardship of beginners, he analyzed and organized the principles and theories of Taijiquan Tui Shou. After nearly twenty years of effort, Tui Shou theory has been fully scientized: ultimate simplicity! Returning to origin!
In 2019 the scientific knowledge system of traditional Taijiquan was initially established; in August 2020, Teacher Hao Xilong helped name it "DeducingHands"; in 2022, DeducingHands culture was founded to explain Tui Shou with pure science and help Taiji lovers find the true legend of Taiji.
